I am doing a collection of shel silverstein poems. I am not sure if i want to make the layout simple and clean and nice or do something with the text to make it more alive. my indesign wasnt working right so i am not done setting the type.

very cool i like that there all different i think that the titles and layouts could reflect the ideas of the poems

second louis' observation.

go further with the titles.

don't make a big mess.

just go further.

look again at typography and what is important in each poem.

then choose several faces for each.

eliminate after looking at a few.

post your process.

saw a few inconsistencies in the typesetting.

indents in the first line of the first graph--

want them or no?

love.

go to the type suggestions iisted on the blog.

try those first.

if not satisfied, go to the type library.

try a few text fonts also.

this one's a little soft.

find one that's clan, sans serif, and crisp with even proportions--no semi serifs (transitional fonts) or large bowls, etc.
