Art

so my thinking for this is that are is something that is universal, because it is just imagery, music, dance etc. so i just want to show something that relates to humans yet one of the most famous pieces of art. i think i am going to add more words though, so this is a start.

it's a start.

but, this universal thing you all want is problematic.

if we go "universal" we level differences.

aren't differences what make life interesting?

anyway, it'd be impossible to go completely universal.

the image you show is well known in western culture, perhaps in traveled, educated, exposed to western culture other cultures...

but, what about the indigenous mexican, still practicing mayan, who hasn't traveled from her/his own village just a few miles from the next, etc?

do we cast these folks aside?

do we find it easy to cast certain cultures aside?

because they don't know our references?

once we've cast them aside, don't they become expendable?

and if they're expendable, aren't we willing to look the other way...

not care what happens to them?

perhaps allow or even instigate/support (perhaps blindly with our tax dollars) the extermination of these folks?

problem, right?

lemme know what you think.

imagery and typography mixing well so far.

needs more time invested.

love.
